Magic City Technology Council Software Conference

On March 27, 2007 Magic City Technology Council held the first ever software engineering conference for the city of Birmingham, AL. The conference was held at Cahaba Grand Conference Center and attended by more than 115 professionals with 11 sessions in Software Engineering, QA and Project Management. It was a great success and we hope you all learnt some from the conference. We thank all the participants, our sponsors and all the speakers who traveled from different parts of the country to share their knowledge with professionals in the Magic City.

Besides our sponsors and attendees, MTC attributes the conference success to the MTC Conference Project Team i.e. Moiz Ahmed (PM), John Walker, Kate Megaw and Todd Collier. From our Board Of Advisors we are grateful to Dale Callahan (UAB EE), Dr. Jeff Gray (UAB CIS) and Kate Gray (AITA)  for their unconditional support for the conference. We are also grateful to Birmingham Business Journal for publishing details on the conference. Please click here for pictures on the conference. Magic City Technology Council is a professional Software Engineering Organization promoting Software Engineering, Software Quality Assurance and Technical Project Management practices. After years of experience in the industry, the founders of MTC felt that out of all disciplines, engineering practices are always left out as an extra effort that may or may not influence ROI. It is an effort, but one that will provide structured environments for success of Software Projects. After all, why do we see a LOT of IT Projects with cost overrun or not achieving completion at all?

Magic City Technology Council is a not for profit engineering organization working to promote and educate professionals in "Software Engineering, Software Quality Assurance and Technical Project Management". We want the City of Birmingham and the State of Alabama maintain work force skilled enough to produce highest quality software and come in line with technologically advanced cities/states.

Our vision is to "Educate Technical Workforce, Enhance Software Product Quality, Improve Corporation's Economic Standing which in turn will Improve Workforce". MTC will bring in speakers with experience, intellect and industry standing from all over the country to advertise and share professional experiences with other parts of the country.

We have business leadership; we need technological leadership and lay down the path for a better IT Infrastructure for Birmingham's and Alabama's future.
