Our Mission
To provide a platform for IT Professionals in Birmingham Alabama
and Surroundings to meet and exchange ideas and experiences in
software engineering quality processes. This also includes
implementation, experiences and project management ideas to improve
the overall quality of the software being developed in and around
Magic City. About Magic City Technology Council
Magic City Technology Council was
founded by Ahmed Moiz. Mr. Moiz after working as software engineer
in the industry for over 13 years know that Software Engineering
Processes and Quality is something that drives the technology. As a
resident of Birmingham, AL and to give something back to the
community he decided to found this not for profit organization for
promotion of better Software Engineering, Quality Assurance and
Technical PM practices in the region. His vision is to make Quality
Software Products as a second name for Birmingham.
It it is often thought that process methodologies in Software and IT
Practices are time consuming and can be overlooked to gain
productivity. Time consuming it is, but with experience and
education it is proved that these methodologies and practices do
have more advantages than disadvantages in the long run. Birmingham
is a city with potential and has seen tremendous growth within the
technological arena in the recent years. The businesses are doing
great and economical growth is evident. We can see productivity and
growth in businesses but quality and success of any Technology
Project requires good business practices, good QA and engineering
practices and constant growth of workforce as regards their
technical knowledge. Much said about that but being a part of the
workforce we all feel the need of a platform to understand and keep
up with the technological advancement. We also need a platform to
get together and work on metrics of success and measurement of
understanding in conjunction with Technical Management Practices.
Magic City Technology Council will be such an organization founded
by the IT Professionals with the undertaking of establishing such a
platform.
Magic City Technology Council will try and ensure adoption of a
structured direction for the technological and technical workforce
by educating, experience and using this platform to manage growth.
It will not only help the work force but also help achieve the
upward spiral that we think of as the underlying concept for MTC.
Helping the workforce will help businesses that will help city which
in turn will help Workforce and Businesses grow together. From the
corporation point of view it will help network, sponsor, socialize
and advertise businesses through not just products offered but by
the quality possessed by the products through technically educated
workforce.
This is a unique perception and as MTC grows, we strongly believe
that other cities will approach to help them achieve this standard. |
