Jeff
Gray is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and
Information Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
where he co-directs the Software Composition and Modeling (SoftCom)
laboratory. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Science from
Vanderbilt University, where he also served as a research assistant
at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems. Jeff’s primary
research areas are model-driven engineering, aspect-oriented
programming, and generative programming. His research is currently
supported by NSF, with recent funding from DARPA and an IBM Eclipse
grant. Jeff currently serves as the chair of the Alabama IEEE
